Taleo is a cloud-based talent management software vendor that was acquired by Oracle in February 2012.

Taleo was founded in 1999 as Recruitsoft and adopted its present name in 2004. Originally a recruitment software vendor, the company gradually expanded into other areas of talent management. Taleo was considered a leader in talent management before its acquisition, due in part to its strong social media analytics capabilities. Experts regarded the Oracle move as a response to SAP's December 2011 acquisition of SuccessFactors.

Oracle offers two versions of the Taleo suite, one for enterprises and one for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The suite encompasses modules for recruiting, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, succession planning and compensation management

Taleo is the worst piece of software ever invented. Whoever developed Taleo should be banned from ever developing software again. Google Hate Taleo if you would like to verify my claim.
HR employees love it because it generates their little reports for them. But Taleo DESTROY applicant data and costs applicants hours and hours and hours and hours of wasted times. It is the ABSOLUTE WORST application I have ever seen. Most applicants refuse to apply to a company that uses Taleo. It only works for applicants that have had two or fewer jobs.
