The Workboard Business Velocity Platform allows an employee to create and follow Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and connect them to their company's business plan. Workboard provides bar graphs, charts and other data visualization tools that allow managers and approved employees to view the progress towards goals that individual employees have made and the relationship of the goals to business strategies. The application is able to forecast the probability that the employee will successfully achieve his or her goals given the current course and speed of work.
Workboard promotes openness and encourages leadership because employees can see the work and assignments of others, according to the vendor. The software documents accomplishments with weekly status reports. A page called Running a Business Review, released in 2016, is designed for leaders and shows a completion percentage for each OKR and numbers that show progress on company-wide projects. It includes a hot box that flags risks of achieving key performance indicators.
The software automates reporting for managers by rolling up data from different functions and levels and displaying results on certain goals and tasks. A continuous performance management feature provides for frequent discussions, coaching and feedback between employees and managers. A manager can go to a team page, for example, click on names of members and see a list of their projects, the status and due dates. A manager can also send badges or a symbol of a trophy to recognize an employee.
Workboard integrates with numerous other applications including Slack software, Microsoft Outlook, Jira, Salesforce and Google Calendar. It can also integrate with an HRIS to receive data such as organizational and reporting structures and titles, roles and responsibilities of employees. The vendor, Workboard Inc., is based in Redwood City, Calif., and was co-founded in 2013 by CEO Deidre Paknad and her husband, CTO Daryoush Paknad.
